Alan and Ohno Design’s favorite baseball team – the Bay City Independents – played in the World Tournament of Historic Base Ball at Greenfield Village on Sun., Aug. 9. The final score was close, but the Walker Tavern Wheels beat the Independents by a score of 17 to 14. The weekend-long tournament featured 16 vintage baseball clubs from Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Ohio playing games on Saturday and Sunday. Fans sat in the grass or on chairs they brought from home. If you missed the tournament, go to The Detroit News website for a series of photos. Look closely and you’ll see Alan. If it looks like fun, you still have a chance to catch the vintage action in Bay City. On Sept. 26, The Bay City Independents host 4 teams for the Michigan State Tournament in Carroll Park.
